Length photo and update

Been without internet for what feels like an age - but now it's back!
And I have length pictures, hurrah!

At tailbone length now, very pleased with my progress. It's taken 2 years to get from just above waist to where I am now.

Until next time!

Victorian hairstyle

(retrieved from http://late-victorian-clothing.blogspot.co.nz/2011/07/late-victorian-era-headwear-and-hair.html)
I've been wanting to attempt a recreation of this hairstyle for about a year now. Today I was feeling brave - and this is what I came out with:

I made a few modifications as I went along (as you can probably tell). I attempted the rolls at the front, but didn't like how they ended up looking so braided those sections and looped them with the other braids. My hair isn't as thick as the woman in the picture (and I don't have any hair pieces to use) so I had to get creative with the back braids. I also rope braided the section at the crown. All in all, I rather like how it turned out - and I think I'll definitely be borrowing aspects of it for future styles.

Lazy hairstyles

I have been so busy lately - my son started school last week and ever since then it's been go, go, go!
Here are some of the styles I've been wearing:

Snooding it!
We had two cold days here, and I wanted a style that would keep me cozy. Also great for bad hair days! All I did was twist and pin the front, left and right, before chucking the whole thing up in a cinnabun. Then I placed my snood over and pinned it in place. So easy and comfy!

Another lazy day style I unfortunately didn't get a picture of, but wanted to share the tutorial for it anyway from Rapunzel's Resource - it's a French braid with a parting! Really good for those who don't like having their hair all pulled back. There are tonnes of other fantastic tutorials on the site too. Here it is!

Today I decided to do something a little more special. Basically the same style as my looped and pinned double dutch braid style, only done with lace rope braids instead. I shoved a flower in it for good measure. I made the flower according to LaDollyVita33's tutorial - they are so pretty and easy!

Until next time!

Braids and buns!

Here are some of the styles I've been doing in the past few days, enjoy!

Not the best picture, but one of my favourite styles. French braid with a paranda and two English braids from the front.
Inspired by Torrin Paige's "Braidy Bunch". Link!

This is my attempt at a style one of the ladies on LHC posted (Eresh). Lace French rope braid from the right, wrapped around my head. On the left I rope braided the front and then braided it into another rope braid with the rest of the hair, before bunning it.

See you next time!
